The legacy of my father, Chris CM Murphy OAM, is one of inspiration and dedication. Renowned as the former manager of INXS, his influence extended far beyond the music industry. He was a beacon of sustainable living, a lover of nature, and a passionate advocate for performance horses, particularly in the realm of polo. In 2015, he envisioned a sanctuary on his 60-acre rural haven in South Ballina, NSW, merging his love for surfing, breeding performance horses, and agriculture.
ollowing his poignant passing in early 2021, I embraced the opportunity to carry forward his vision with a fresh perspective. Together with equine therapist Maxime Willems, we crafted Equine Wellness programs that utilize retired polo horses to guide guests on a journey of self-discovery and harmony with nature. These programs form the cornerstone of the diverse retreats and experiences available at Sugar Beach Ranch, catering to women's wellness initiatives, corporate getaways, and enriching school holiday programs.
